Description

A Rare and Exempalry Contemporary Late 20th Century Studio Art Glass Aquamarine Paperweight Vase by, Steven Lundberg of Lundberg Studios. The vase is decorted with an all over vivid and rich display of an underwater coral reef exemplyfuing various coral, various aquatic plantlife, milifiore decoration and two swimming tropical angel fish all against a blue background. This vase is an homage to the techniques developed and used by, Louis Comfort Tiffany of Tiffany Studios exemplyfying "Aquamarine" which was developed by the blowers of Tiffany Studios. The technique is a grueling process consisting of many hands on becasue of the weight of the vase from its multiple thick clear glass layers froming a paperweight magnifying throughout the different layers of decoration creating a three dimensioal affect to the vase. Very few of these were produced because of the cost, and intensive labor to produce these examples and as such this style was extremely limited with maybe less than half a dozen known to be in existance.
