"La Chanson" by, Louis Chalon

A French Art Nouveau gilt-bronze and patinated sculpture "La Chanson" (The Song) attributed to, Louis Chalon depicting an Art Nouveau Maiden with windswept hair amongst flowers at her feet and holding a flower while singing a song. The sculpture is signed with the "Louchet" foundry seal.

Louis Chalon studied painting under Jules Lefebre and Boulanger, and then worked as an illustrator. In 1898 he made trompe-l’oeil designs for porcelain. He then became known for his drawings for newspapers such as Le Figaro around 1900, although he also worked as an interior designer, designing lamps, vases and furniture. He regularly contributed to the Society of French Artists, and took part in the Exposition Universelle of 1900.
