Franz Xavier Bergman (Austrian, 1861 – 1936)
An Austrian Art Nouveau polychromed bronze Orientalist sculpture "Gun Merchant" by, Franz Bergman of a Moorish street merchant peddling weapons holding guns in one hand with his other hand outstretchedfurther decorated with a rifle slung on his back, pouch with more guns and a water canteen around his neck embellished in traditional garb with turban. The bronze retains its original polychromed finish and is in good condition with age appropriate wear and losses to the polychrome. The sculpture is signed with the Bergman mark displaying the letter B within a cartouche and is further numbered.
