A fine and rare sterling silver and white jade cigar table lighter by, Solomon and Gustave Gump, decorated with a sterling silver gyroscope further embellished with a 19th Century white jade carved chilong along the body and a dragon head as the handle. The silver is signed, "G GUMP / CO. /PAT.APR FOR/1/ STERLING."

S & G Gump is a silver company that has been based in San Francisco since the 1860's. Gump's was known to buy and import jade and other art from China in the early 1900's to their store in San Fransisco. Gump's is still in business today.
